Oh, stupid ugly Cubs. Your performance the past couple of days has been nothing short of

You should try to score lots of runs and do not let the other team score as many.

Caratini is batting 1.000 against Scherzer, and Baez is batting .000 so Vic should be the shortstop.

Whatever, I’m prepared to drop to 0-2 on the season.

If the big 4 (Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, Contreras) aren't getting it done, this offense is not good with Heyward remembering he's the Cubs version of Heyward and the rest probably just suck.

I know conventional opinion is the Cubs really need only bullpen help, but I respectfully and vehemently disagree. They need a bat badly as well.

Pick any lineup in the league and make the best four hitters either suck or be injured, and that lineup isn’t going to be very good.

O.K. But that isn't a reason to not get better.

It’s not a reason to say we badly need a bat.

Could a bat help? Sure. So could a good starter. So could some bullpen arms. But some needs are more pressing than others.

We are also missing Zobrist, who isn’t a top 4 player on the team and wasn’t that great to start the year (he still was getting on base), but he still kinda can make things go with the offense/lengthen it and is a year removed from a .355 wOBA and 123 wRC+.

Guy in a hurry to use the word "ninny;" ends up saying he'd rather have Addison Russell on the team.

Awwwwww.

Huh? If you are saying we need Ian Happ up for Addison Russell, fine. That's not what I'm saying. Neither should be.

He should definitely be up instead of Russell, and arguably over Almora, or to put Bote or Descalso on IL. All of this is obvious.

He can be up over Russell. It doesn't matter over the other guys. He will just be the new whipping boy for the guys who we all think suck. Dude has a slash line of .228/.352/.368 as an almost 25-year-old in Triple A.

Also, at least admit it was stupid to want to DL Rizzo now. Because this was never about Ian Happ. It was always about DLing Rizzo to bring anybody up.

Yes, I wanted them to put the guy who couldn't even horsefeathering pinch hit on the 10 day IL. It's not like the guy has a track record of nagging back issues that the Cubs take their sweet time in trying to deal with or anything. But sure, he's in the lineup today, so that must mean he's fine and he will not end up on the IL anyway.
