So we’re 11-10 now and Dodgers are 15-10. How have they played 4 more games than the Cubs at this point? We’ve only had 1 postponement. Just a quirk in scheduling?

The Brewers have also played 4 more games. The Cubs were just scheduled with more early off days.

To ensure that sweet, sweet 40* day stretch with no off days

Cubs played 3 opening days and had off days after all them (playing 1 on, 1 off, 3 on, 1 off, 6 on, 1 off) both Milwaukee and Dodgers started the season with 7 straight games.

There are a couple of stretches where a makeup game would kill us. In June/July we have a stretch of 32 games in 33 days, but at least we have the all star break right after. In September to close out the season we have 24 games in 25 days so we could easily have a game made up on that off day and see another death march.

I think, at least in our division, there isn’t a team with an overly friendly September schedule like the brewers had last year. Iirc from looking at schedules at start of the year.
