Noah Fant killed the combine, caught a ridiculous 19 TDs in 78 receptions during his college career, and averaged 14 yards a reception. For some reason I’m not seeing him considered among the handful best players in this draft, and even that college teammate Hockenson is a better prospect. What am I missing here? Is it the usual nonsense about not being enough of a traditional TE (blocker) by dumb dumbs? Or is it the other usual thing about one of these boys maybe being a little uppity for teams’ tastes? A little of both? From what little I’ve read it seems like a little of both

Hockenson is easily a better all-around TE while Fant is the more gifted athlete, but Fant also has issues trying to catch footballs sometimes so his athleticism doesn’t always get to show.

I think they’re both studs. Hockenson lowkey nailed the combine too (37” vert, 7.02 3-cone @ 251#) and was also productive. It just seems like Fant’s combo of TD production and athleticism should put him on the short list for top overall offensive skill position player than wrapped into some noise conversation about whether he blocks well enough to be considered a true TE, as if teams really care about that.

Jace Sternberger may be the best TE in this draft. Completely overlooked by the Mackey Award idiots.

Gronk retired.

Single most unstoppable offensive weapon in football history, IMHO.

Jim Brown existed. As did Jerry Rice

It was at least physically possible to stop those guys. Nobody did, but it wasn't because it was physically impossible as with Gronk.

Not under today's rules, no, of course you couldn't. He is a physical freak, helped tremendously by rules that don't let you look at receivers funny without being flagged

the draft hats are out and they incorporate the city flag that each team plays for... so the Raiders have the American flag on theirs.

If I'm not mistaken, after a quick glance, the Cardinals and Cowboys are both using state flags on their design.

completely dysfunctional morons that ran roughshod over the end of the Lovie era then Trestman and Fox.

Imagine how good they would have been with even competent coaching. They kind of wasted Aaron Rodgers.
