They're totally gonna bean him. What a horsefeathers organization and their stupid unwritten rules.

I am hoping that as the LaRussa/Matheny influence wanes, they stop with their easily defensive self-righteous [expletive]. While easy to make fun of, its also annoying as all hell. Unfortunately, I think the residents of St. Louis are very defensive in general so that won't completely go away.

They're really going to be bean him aren't they?

"Oh, it will. It will carry [into the season]," Molina insisted on Monday. "I can't wait to get on the field."

---

"St. Louis is home," Molina said. "If anybody says anything bad about my home, I'm going to be there for us. I said to the guys, 'We are like a family. We have to stick together. We have to defend ourselves, and we have to defend our ground.' Whoever says something about us, we are going to be there to defend us."

I mean if they really do hit him, why shouldn’t the pitcher and Yadi be ejected and suspended for it? They’re clearly giving some evidence this is a planned thing when it happens.

if he was pissed about people saying he was washed, he's going to be really pissed to know that they were right

Yeah, dude is a fine player. Not a superstar. Not close to a $300 million player.

Prove me wrong, KB.

KB will always bee our Mike Harkey without the MVP. Rest in Peace squinty eye

I was thinking more of our Mark Prior but hoping not.

Speaking of Bryant and Prior, lol Mark Appel's career. Never trust a pitcher. We'll never know if the reports that the Cubs draft board was Appel first then Bryant were true or not, but damn we are lucky if they were.

It's been confirmed they had Bryant first on their draft board. I think there's even a pic somewhere (conspiracy theories >> they changed it after the draft) and I believe Keith Law said the Cubs were very high on Bryant and were worried Houston might take him first. Bryant himself said he got the feeling the Cubs were highest on him and were going to take him.

Now, I wonder if they had Appel second and how they viewed them. Was there consensus on Bryant or did Theo & Jed want to play it safe with the advanced college bat while McLeod and other scouts wanted to select the dumb pitcher. Who knows?

Off days are boring and stink, so I'm placating myself by checking out the Cubs' individual splits on BR. Almost everyone is looking pretty, pretty, pretty, pri-tay good in some way...except for Bryant.

Someone smarter at baseball than me make me feel better by pointing out some things that I'm missing when I end up bummed out by consistently mediocre his splits seem to be so far.

It's all bad, well, except for the standard "he's done it before, so he'll be fine" positive thoughts. I still worry about that shoulder issue creating a new normal for him. I sure as hell won't be just assuming he'll be fine when it's all said and done until he actually is.

Kris Bryant is broken beyond repair and we were duped into loving him
