Guys, Lester was flat out missing; Gameday doesn't have him getting robbed at all.
He didn't throw a single strike that wasn't called, and got some outside strikes on top of it. Can't blame the ump for that run.

get out of here with one run and i'll take it for sure. sky isn't falling yet, guys

 

got to see how the offense looks first

 

 

If I'm a Cub hitter and some of those pitches that were balls in the top of the first all of sudden become strikes I'm all over the umpire. The least one can ask of any umpire is consistency.

a couple of them were maybe close enough to go either way. jon nibbles, it's what he does

He wasn't, but after the first run scored the ump decided to start calling everything a strike. I just want some horsefeathering consistency

This is true, but is he nibbling more now out of necessity as his stuff begins to deteriorate with age? It seems like it, but could be recency bias.
