Whatever happens this offseason. I just hope the new hitting coach brings a huge bag of steroids with him.

screw it nobody else is going to be optimistic so i'll give it a go.

maples gets this guy. the cubs score 2 on the bottom half and somehow squeak out a 6-5 win

Wait. Are you saying we are only down a run? I figured we were down by three or four, at least.

no. i was saying score 2 to make it 2-5 going into the 6th and somehow score another 4 between innings 6-9 to win 6-5

either way archer is god-mode now or cubs just suck that bad or prob both so whatever that was a fun experiment while it lasted i'm an idiot

Ohhhh, gotcha.

To be fair to you, I specifically remember you being a God at this last season, correctly calling comeback wins, etc. So, it's not your fault. You can only do your part. The Cubs simply aren't doing their part.

I don't know what is sadder, KB being hurt from that HBP or that an MVP 2 years ago was double switched out of a game of a team fighting for its life because it didn't matter if he was in or not

I hate to complain about a 90+ win team but the Cubs haven’t been much fun for months.

I've missed a few fun ones the past week, but not watching and just being on the board has really been way better. I can watch Netlfix and still keep updated, but I don't have to watch such boring TV.

And Bryant is more hurt.
Whatever Bote is, it is a better team right now with him in the lineup.

Haven’t been watching thankfully. Did they say anything about Bryant or did they just take him out?

Quintana and Lester are pretty much going to need to throw shutouts the next two days and I am not sure that will be enough.

On the plus side, the Rockies are up 8-1 so if the results hold, the Cards will be half a game out.

Oh, man, that just means we are going to be playing a desperate team that needs to pull out all the stops against us.

The way our season is going, if you told me we could end St Louis’s season for the third time in four years, but wouldn’t win the division and would either lose the WC game to the Rockies or to the Brewers in the LDS, I’d probably take it.

He should punch himself in the horsefeathering face for that atrocity of an off-season. All the talk about investing in the right arms and he flushed 200m down the toilet this winter.
Remember those articles about how mad Theo gets when things aren’t going well? I can’t imagine how he is handling this

Most of this year one part of the team hasn’t been working at all times. Nice to see everything go in the [expletive] at once now.

Bryant has had a .730 OPS since coming off the DL. Bote has had an OPS of around .550 since mid-August

Edit: just checked my work, Bote is 14 for his last 101 and has an OPS of .511 since August 16

Second Edit: Bryant has a .756 OPS since coming off the DL
