If the Cubs finish 9-9, the Brewers would have to go 11-5, Cardinals 13-4 to pass the Cubs

That was a lot more fun last week

If Addi could only hit....

You know Maddon starting him tomorrow now after that

With Hendricks on the mound, he should start. Murphy can get a day off.

they only need to tie through 162 to force a playoff game for the division though

I thought they would only do the play-in game if it made the difference between October or going home early. If the Cubs and Brewers finish tied one of them would almost certainly have the wild card so I think they'd decide the division based on head-to-head record, right?

Edit: everything I said was wrong.

See 7.02(b)(5) on page 88. http://mlb.mlb.com/documents/0/8/0/268272080/2018_Official_Baseball_Rules.pdf

Any postponed game, suspended game (that has not pro- gressed far enough to become a regulation game), or tie game that has not been rescheduled and completed prior to the last scheduled game between the two teams dur- ing the championship season must be played (or contin- ued, in the case of a suspended or tie game) to a com- pleted regulation game, if the League President deter- mines that not playing such game might affect eligibility for the post-season and/or home-field advantage for any Wild Card or Division Series game.

I hope the city lets the Cubs move Friday's game to a night game then. Hurricane is going south

This would be awesome. They let the Cubs do it one time last year, so maybe...?

Also I know for a fact the Cubs got approval from the city for ten concerts this year but then only hosted nine. They should use that when they ask for an extra night game, especially as an average Cubs night game draws less people to the neighborhood and makes a lot less noise than a concert.

Weather still looks dicey in DC on Thursday. Cubs should just win tonight and send the B-squad into the 'cane.

There's really no point in the day tomorrow where the chance of rain is much worse than 30% right now, so there's unfortunately really nothing preventing the game from being held and the team being able to fly out afterwards, even if there is a delay.

Last I heard they were asking MLB if they could reschedule to later in afternoon, it's not about the city.

I thought this was the case, but it's not. they still play a one game playoff for the division even if the second place team is in a wc spot.

Could have a one game playoff then meet in the nlds. That’d be weird
