The Reds at least have a good offense. And the Pirates are not a push over. It’s not like their schedule is all that light. Also, when their relievers pitch it’s almost always 30+ pitches. They really are slowing down in that pen.

We never have relaxing games, so I'm not shocked he walked Harper to start the inning and I won't be shocked if we have some nerve-wracking moments left in this one.

Really not worried about Hamels walking Harper when there's a parade of bums after him.

I know it’s a tough play, but if Almora isn’t going to catch that, there’s no reason to play him.

This might be a hot take.............but I actually don't think it was a tough play at all. He just whiffed.

He should have caught that.

Brewers have a pretty easy remaining schedule, especially if the continue playing well against the sChlubs.

I really need someone to give me one of those, "the Cubs only have to play like this, and the Brewers would have to play like THIS," updates right now, because I have some creeping dread about the next series.

If the Cubs win tonight and go 10-10 after...Brewers would need to go 14-5 to win the division outright.

Definitely. Almora is just straight bumming it all around. He's a backup at best, and maybe not even that.

He makes that play 9/10 times.

Unfortunately......

Oh yeah, that's the stuff. That's exactly what I wanted.

Bryant is 6 for 24 1 XBH since his return..

He got 20 games to get that swing working for the playoffs..

A nice 3 hit game with a HR could go a long way with giving him confidence sooner rather then later

Ha. When Caratini came up I said inning is over. I went to make myself a drink and I came back in time to see the replay of his grand slam.

Also, I think the Bears have a better shot at winning the North than the Brewers have of winning the Central.

I feel teams with little to play for do some good things when playing teams in the division fighting for the playoffs. I’m hoping for that sort of thing to happen

I don't think confidence is going to do much if it's because he has the shoulders of a horsefeathering mummy these days.
