Between the new channel and doing absolutely nothing the last two offseasons, it's been a very long time since I've cared so little about the up and coming season.

So I finally called directv to see what was what and they kept saying I should be seeing the station based on my package (giggity), but I wasn't. It's right next to NBCSC, which I get along with all the other sports channels. I reset the receiver myself and they reset it on their end, then after 15 minutes the guy got a note that you have to be in Illinois to watch it but they are doing everything they can to make it available nationwide.

I figured this was going to be the case but my account kept saying I had access to the channel.

You don’t have to be in Illinois. I am in Indiana have no issues. Perhaps you mean you have to be in the Cubs territory?

Yeah, that's almost certainly what the DirecTV guy meant but didn't realize it.

The guy specifically said Illinois, but I took it to mean the Cubs territory. I didn't need to stay on the line for further explanation since that was the answer I was expecting anyway, and I needed to light my grill. Also my daughter was getting annoyed that they kept resetting while she was watching Flyers/Rangers.

YouTube TV has renewed licenses for most of its FSNs - they're dropping YES (Yankees) and Fox Sports Prime Ticket (Angels, I believe) - but there's no mention of Marquee, so I'm guessing they're not picking it up.

It seems that we are heading toward the very real possibility of games being played without fans in the stadiums, maybe for weeks or longer.

It is crazy to imagine a scenario where that occurs AND at the same time 50% of households in the Chicago area can't watch the games on TV. This is really the perfect storm of events to relegate the Cubs to irrelevance, at least for a period of time. I wonder whether this might have any impact on the negotiations, or even if MLB might step in and temporarily lift their blackout restrictions.

So Hulu Live finally made Marquee available on the very same day the games were cancelled. =D>

That's some excellent trolling by Hulu.

this would be really cool if I got the Marquee Network..

I can watch I think all of those games in full on Youtube though so I'll just follow along

Yeah YouTube has all the 2016 games, fyi. If you have MLBTV (or don’t even know if you need it for archives) they have every game from the foreseeable past.

Is it weird that outside of the last inning of Game 7, I've never rewatched any of those playoff games?

Wait, don't answer that

My personal favorite is the 8th inning of NLCS Game 1.

Still can’t believe the Dodgers intentionally walked Heyward and Coghlan...

I feel watched certain plays and certain Innings from time to time, but I've never actually sat and re-watched any full game.

When I got the blu-ray World Series set I watched the radio overlay from the games I watched and the regular broadcast of the games I had to listen to on the radio like a nerd. I was also up late with an infant a few times in there, which helped.

My money would be one what was probably going to happen pre-Covid... it will happen on opening day.

Yep, I never expected anything before then. If they don't come to an agreement on opening day, I will activate a 7 day trial of YouTube TV and start shopping around for other providers that carry Marquee.

I think you mean Hulu. No deal with YouTube TV as of now.

Ahh yes thats what I meant. I was checking it out back in March before the world turned on its head. As much as I was tempted to watch some of the classic games for a week on Marquee, I have held off signing up for a trial until a season started.
