Cubs TV broadcast rights

I have almost every channel including all the rsns and it shows up on my guide but says I don’t have the channel and need to purchase.

 

It appears every DirecTV subscriber is getting that message out of market, and some in market (even if they have the right package).

 

From what I've gathered Marquee isn't going to be national on DirecTV in the sports package. I have no clue but I imagine that's probably a different negotiation/agreement and maybe they want to get all the local providers wrapped up first.

I bet David DeJesus is going to still show up at the NBCSN studios everyday and stare dead eyed into the camera after every game but nobody will have the heart to tell him that he isn't on the air.

I just pulled the plug on all the RSNs yesterday. It felt good to save some money.

 

Now when Sunday Ticket is gone, I can move to streaming and get rid of all the stupid DirecTV boxes in my house.

That sucks, YouTube tv is so much better than Hulu live tv. I'm talking about the unlimited DVR and the interface that is more cable like. The reason i was able to sell my wife on ditching cable/satellite

For whatever it's worth, I'm finding that most of the shows I save to be DVR'd by YouTube TV are also available on normal Hulu since I got it with the ESPN/Disney+ bundle, so you might not lose as much as you think. Agree that YTTV is a better overall product though.

Hulu live can suck my balls. I am really enjoying that in the age of everything everywhere that it's becoming increasingly more difficult to watch the Cubs. They can suck my balls too.

It's RSNs in general. Dish Network is going away from them too. I have a feeling this will be bad for those companies though. Not having live sports is going to be a serious limiter of their market.

 

For my money, whatever benefits are being talked about of YouTube TV over Hulu Live are overwhelmingly outweighed by their decision not to carry a huge number (or all?) of RSNs.

 

The Sinclair partnership (gross political ties aside) has worked out as well as it could for them and got them in the door as far as distribution goes.
