Agreed on no-doubles defense, though it was Happ in left at that point.

The lack of execution with RISP is immensely frustrating, but given that pretty much every advanced statistics study says it's fluky and not predictive of future performance, I find it hard to complain about it too much. Maybe you can point at one player here and there and say they have an issue with their mental approach (and I'm guilty of thinking that with KB from time to time, which is dumb), but no way this is a team wide issue, especially with the sustained success this group has had.

You just can't lose that game. Just so horsefeathering dumb. KB should've had a dong, Rizzo piss pounds one to RF, Almora throws up a garbage AB, KB wasn't playing on the line there to guard against a double, Wilson continues to be trash, Joe either managed the bullpen a little bit poorly (if Morrow wasn't available) or fireable offense poorly (if Morrow was available). Jesus horsefeathering christ

i dont care about the bullpen usage

you're not allowed to only score 3 runs with what was given to you. thats it, for me

I really agree with this. If they would just be league average in that one aspect we all talk about, the bullpen would be such a smaller issue.

Tight back, precautionary, out for tonight. I don't know how the logistics work, but given that MLB allows you 26 players for a DH and we went into it with 24 seems...bold.

If Morrow is this fragile, they shouldn’t have signed him.

I mean, he's definitely this fragile. Go look through his career. When he's healthy, he's usually dominant. Being dominant in October is way more important than June.

Apparently we do have a 26th man for tonight, Justin Hancock.

sweet bullpen of Hancock, Zastryzny, Farrell and Bass tonight.

I don't mind it. The upside is obviously there, probably would have paid more for Davis or another closer with elite potential, and when healthy the Cubs have Edwards, Cishek and Strop as solid backup closer options.
