I definitely care more this year than I did last year. It’s kind of where it was pre championship but it’s diffe as I want constant domination as opposed being scared we will go on a losing streak and choke and stuff

I mean I know there’s been some frustrating things but we are still a good 7-12 games better than anyone in the division

Jesus guys it's 5-5.

The 2016 World Champions had separate stretches of 4-8, 5-5, 5-15 and 4-5.

they also had actual good stretches, which the 2018 cubs have literally never done #caseclosed

You say that like it's a bad thing. Why do even watch sports if they make you this miserable?

Which was/is still pretty much the same team from 2016 that’s won over 200 games the last 2 years combined and that’s not even really the point. Good teams go through rough or not crazy hot stretches. I said it earlier but we are .500 through the first 10 games with 90% of them being on the road, just won a series 3 of 4 on the road from the best team we faced yet, we have guys performaning like black holes in a few spots, RISP hitting has been bad and unlucky, our 2nd best position player has missed or played hurt in 50% of the games, the rotation has had some clunky starts. All in all that’s fine and okay and you’d take it over most 10 game stretches of the season when the games are nearly all on the road.

5 times in your lifetime the Cubs won 92 games and played in the NLCS. Last year was one of them. The two previous years were two of the others. Get a horsefeathering grip, man.

So far, I would not blame luck, for the suckitude when we have RISP.

And I would get Happ the horsefeathers out of the leadoff spot.

It’s played a role, it’s not the only or main reason but it’s a pretty big one.

I mean, this team is in a championship window. So a peak of getting their asses kicked in the NLCS isn't a year people should strive to want.

Championship window, sure.

Lol would it be better for you if they had beaten the Dodgers last year in the NLCS and then lost in the WS?

Being one of the final four teams left is a pretty stellar season in and of itself. Before 2016 happened, were you telling yourself "If we don't win 3 World Series in the next 7 years it's all for naught"?

The Cubs, THESE CUBS, won a World Series. Everything else is horsefeathering gravy.

I know all that and I’m not really worried at all. I just want domination now!

As I'll be able to watch this game, I feel obliged to purchase some nachos on the way home.

But Belgian nachos probably have raw herring and mayonnaise on them

Raw herring is called "maatjes" and is a Dutch delicacy. Mayonnaise is ok to put on "frieten", providing it is home-made.

If they get the game in today, I may post a picture of my purchase.

As the son of a Dutchman, I know all about both. Raw Herring is the one Dutch food my father won't eat, though.
