Zobrist is so useless at the plate right now (particularly RH) that I honestly might have just stuck with Heyward out there. But there are no great options.

I have more hope of Zob BABIP lucking into a hit than Heyward being able to hit the ball out of the infield.

Would it be that bad to throw Happ out there?

Same. Would've just gone with Heyward.

Zobrist's 2017 line against LHP was .179/.261/.292, basically one step above pitcher level. All his hits in the post season have been against right-handed pitchers. He's a bad defender in RF (-6 DRS in 216 innings in 2017, dreadful).

I'd have gone with Happ, but at least Heyward could be justified with defense. Starting Zobrist is dumb no matter how you look at it. He's the worst offensive option against a LHP and the worst defender.

Still, here's to hoping he proves me wrong.

I want to hear “Kershaw” chants howling from the crowd tonight like the “Cueto” and “who’s your daddy” chants from playoffs past.

I went to game 4 NLDS last week and trust me, the "Strasburg" chants really worked.

Obviously didn’t chant loud enough

Maybe grandpa can help Rizz get his head out of his ass.

Ross was at the game yesterday and hanging out with the team before the game, so any help to Rizzo didn't work yesterday

Ian Happ as a righty .276/.313/.476 why Zobrist?

OPS vs LHP:

Martin: .912 (19 AB)

Happ: .789

Jay: .751

Heyward: .662

Zobrist: .553

Lester: .535

i don't know why, but i just can't be upset about zobrist being in the lineup

Yeah, he takes good at bats, and his true talent level even in decline and considering the injury is better than his 2017 line. Happ's problem is he's not quite as good as alternatives at everything. He's not the defender that Almora, Heyward, and Baez are, he doesn't hit for power like Schwarber does, and doesn't have the patience/pitch selection of Zobrist. I get the arguments for Happ and even agree that he's been underutilized in the postseason, but I can't bring myself to be overly upset that he's not getting starts.

Win turds

But alas it’s Super Kershaw ready to break out in the post season. Then you add in the horsefeathering ginger is going all 2015 Daniel Murphy on the pitching, Puig taking walks, and some hobo named Chris Taylor is the second coming of Duke horsefeathering Snyder. Talk about good night.

However the flag is flying, beers are chilling, the jersey is on and the music is blaring just like last night after missing me so much last week
