Random thought I've had. I think for DOG penalties, the offensive team should be given the option of burning a TO instead of the penalty except in the last 2 minutes of a half.

well, it's kind of a perfect storm of scoring two quick defensive TDs and having john fox as your coach.

 

as soon as we got out to a big lead there was no way the rest of the game wasn't going to be hideous conservative playing not to lose field position slop.

You gotta remember that Fox is in job saving mode so if he sniffs out a win he will go even more conservative than normal to maximize his chances. He doesn't care if more aggressive play calling is better for the team's long term development. He will run it and punt for an entire half if he thinks that's the best way to win
