Even if I wasn't a Cubs fan, I have never wanted a team to be more humiliated than I do right now.

The national narrative around this was basically putting all the blame on Strasburg. Dusty did a lousy job making an excuse for him, but the consensus is that strasburg didn't want the ball today. If he has now been pressured into it, his head will not be in it and we could take advantage.

This is all on Dusty. I don't know what actually happened but the fact that the end result is Strasburg getting a ton of blame and Dusty relatively little says all you need to know about how good of a manager Dusty is. If it really was Strasburg asking out, or if this was just a con from the start, either way his job is to deflect heat away from his players.
