i'd say that pirates fans can now officially ignore baseball and turn their eyes to the steelers and penguins.

 

at least they made it well into august with some degree of interest in baseball, which is about 3-4 months longer than they did for most of the 2000s.

I have a friend that follows the Rockies pretty closely, but not baseball in general. He made a comment about a year ago that went something like "The Rockies got Jon Gray with the 3rd pick of the draft...as a Cub fan, with the 2nd pick...regretting that draft now?" Took me a minute to realize he wasn't being a wiseass. That's when I switched from a polite laugh to a belly laugh.
