Supposedly the Bulls would get #3, future philly first Okafor but there's lots of varying rumors going around including Celtics role players or even 2018 Brooklyn 1st.

TBH I don't buy it. I believe they want to keep Butler at this point and run out mediocrity until next offseason which was their stated plan but it's at least exciting to think about rumors like this.

They're not going to trade Jimmy. And they're going to win 30-40 games each of the next two years. Then they'll give Jimmy his 200 mill and win 20-30 games a year watching him decline.

Trade is happening,

You beat me, I put it in the other thread too. I bet Boston trades something for George. Brown and maybe some future picks that aren't 3 or NJ's next year. They are so loaded.

I don't think they trade for George without getting a strong commitment he's re-signing. I think it's Butler they are going to target and either Heyward or sign and trade for Blake.

I think they'd do it, without a commitment. He'd come cheaper and they'd have all year to get him into playing there.

I honestly figure we want 3, NJ's pick next year, more picks, and Smart and Crowder. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but that's how ridiculous I think our guys are in valuing Jimmy.

I love Jimmy and don't want him to leave, but if they can get some snazzy assets for him they pretty much have to do it

He's the team's only asset one of the best trade chips available. They should ask for the moon but I hope internally they're a bit more realistic

I'm probably wrong but I think a Butler deal happens. If Boston wanted to stay in this draft, they would've just taken Fultz IMO.

If Boston can get two out of Griffin, Hayward, George, or Butler that team is probably the best in the East and plausible competition for GSW. I could see them making a lowball offer on George because Indy has no leverage and that taking a Butler deal off the table.

Screaming A Smith said on First Take that the Bulls tried to trade Butler to Philly for #3 but it didn't work out, now Boston is trying to offer 3 plus more (didnt say whether it was players or picks) for Butler and he thinks it will get done.

Seems like a very Bulls move

End of prime player that will be paid for past production and championship pedigree while solving none of the Bulls most glaring issues?

Umm yeah this is a GarPax move all the way.

If he's the shitty veteran mentor type guy we have to try to show respectability, after trading Jimmy....I'm completely OK with it. If he's the piece we add to try and build with Jimmy.....LOLOLOL, I certainly wouldn't be surprised.

So crazy to spend that much on a guy like him. It would really hurt the Warriors (he's their glue guy IMO), but would give them a lil bit a flexibility (mainly the owner wouldn't be spending as much penalty $$) with the salary/luxury cap to keep the main core.

That's where I am. Iguodala to go along w/ Josh Jackson and a few other draft picks? OK. Iguodala with Butler, Wade, Rondo? Shoot me.

I could live with #3, LAL/SAC pick, Smart, and Crowder. Shouldn't take a lot of massaging to fit Hayward and Butler under the cap with Crowder/Smart's contracts shipping out.

I think that's fair and they should be able to fit Heyward/Blake as well. I do wonder if the Celtics would also try and get Lopez in a Jimmy trade since they struggled so much defending the rim/rebounding this year and also once Jimmy goes they might as well trade Lopez since he's not gonna be around for their next competitive window.

My math can't fit Lopez in along with a 2nd pickup with Butler.

I'm counting

Horford

Bradley

Thomas

Brown

Rozier

as returnees which comes in just under 50M(Plus holds covering a nominal amount for necessary roster spots), leaving ~51M to spend. Ultimately I think they'd like to bring back Olynyk as well who's got a restricted hold of 4.2M

rumors all over the place

-Jimmy pushing for trade to Cavs

-Jimmy has been recruiting Lowry to come to Bulls with him

-Kyrie Irving might push for a trade to Bulls to play with Jimmy if LeBron opts out after next year

Not sure what to believe anymore.

Serious LOL at Kyrie playing for the Bulls.

I'm pulling for the Lakers to trade for George, by the way. My guess is George IS dealt, prior to the draft.

What dampers my excitement on a Butler trade, is that the Bulls haven't yet worked out any top 10 draft picks, outside of Fox. There were rumors yesterday though, at least. But, I don't think they'd make a deal if they've not even worked these guys out. Guess there's a chance they did and it didn't make it onto the radar.
