OK I am officially a meatball...schwarber should go down to Iowa. I've seen him swing 4 times today and none of the 4 have come close to making contact. Maybe Iowa is too drastic but he's hurting the Cubs being in the lineup right now.

No worries brotha, he's gonna work his way through it in the pressure - packed environment of Major League Baseball

I don't think that is too drastic. He needs at bats to get it figured out but how long can you keep him in the lineup at the major league level?

Is Gameday accurate today? Both Schwarber ABs the closet any pitch came to the plate was at least a foot outside, other than the swinging strike 3 in his second AB

He's closing his eyes and flailing. There isn't even a perceivable "approach" to his at-bats anymore

Russell and Schwarber have somehow completely collapsed as capable professional baseball players. It's absolutely painful to witness.

Slow ass Russell pretty much surrendered making contact and tried to bunt for a hit

How does this happen? The freaking guy was injured for 6 months and came back to dominate in the World Series. The human psyche is a mysterious thing.

I'm guessing his abrupt return to the lineup and limited amount of big league experience didn't give the Indians a whole lot of data to scout Schwarber (plus SSS). Now he is going through a period where teams know how to pitch him a lot better, and then now he's either trying to make adjustments to his swing on the fly or has just lost all confidence at the plate because all of the sudden he looks really lost out there.

Let's give a rookie in a 2-30 spell the most chances today

Up to a 36% K rate.

Wake me up when he's at 2014 Javy levels

Schwarber sent his Indiana buddies a bunch of texts "joking" about how much he's struggling but it was more of a "holy horsefeathers this is killing me and I have no idea what's wrong" kind of joking.

perhaps I should watch a few more games because I was genuinely shocked to find out Russell's k rate is only around 20%

Yeah Addy is all about weak popups more than K's. I think his K rate has gone down this year.

It's just nuts that Joe thinks he should heap this much pressure on the guy.

It's a fine line between eccentric and just being a drunk maniac in a van.
