MIL @ CHC – Off and on showers, more off than on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them have to play through a little light rain, and a delay wouldn’t be fully shocking either. YELLOW . Winds NE 15-20mph, blowing in from center.

There's no reason we shouldn't sweep these horsefeathers.

They are 11-5 in the month of May, including 8-2 for their last 10 (though the last 7 were vs. the Broken Mets and Padres.) Not saying they're even almost legit, but they're certainly on a hot streak; and without Braun and Thames for much of it.

Is Happ a better CF than Jay?

Neither one looks good in CF to me. So far it seems like there have been a couple of balls Happ should have caught in CF. Small sample size, of course, but in center Happ is at -1 DRS in 19 innings, Jay is at -4 DRS in 79.2 innings.

Happ looks plenty good for a corner outfielder though, I just don't think he has the defense for CF as his primary position. Statistically, only Heyward has been a plus center fielder this year (2 DRS in 66.1 innings) and for his career (9 DRS in 470.1 innings), even Almora is at -1 DRS. Maybe they're just trying to see if Happ is good enough to backup CF.

Updated for 12pm

MIL @ CHC – Area of rain near Chicago seems to be building in intensity. I’m upping the risk here to ORANGE , based on current radar trends and model forecasts showing a bit more rain than what I saw this morning. Orange means that a delay is likely, and a PPD is possible, but not the most likely outcome, which seems to fit the bill here quite nicely. Winds NE 15-20mph with stronger gusts, blowing in from center, a boost to pitchers… but pitchers are dicey with delay risks anyways.

Is putting "vs." When it should be "@" the new market inefficiency?

Omar posts that in a lot of game threads, so it probably isn't meant as a commentary on Milwaukee.

But the hell with it, we're sweeping.

Home team goes second. @ is superfluous.

nope

vs. suggests first team is home team.

Based on the radar, there will either be a delay about 90 minutes into the game or we'll get lucky and the heavy stuff will stay North. Either way, I think they get the game in. And if I think that, you can almost take it to the bank.

Give me a source on this and I will gladly correct it

I'm gonna need a citation on this 'home team always goes 2nd' business myself

They're always on the bottom of every score graphic I've ever seen (totally talking out of my ass here). Good enough for me.

I guess actually David might be right but that's only because he's an ethnocentric, zenophobic Trumpian. Or something like that:

Away Team vs. Home Team

When you get to sports, it’s more complicated because it varies by country. In the United States, the home team is usually written second (i.e., Away vs. Home). So if the Chicago Bulls are playing the Los Angeles Lakers in Los Angeles, you’d see the game described as Bulls vs. Lakers because the Lakers are the home team. Again, that’s in the US, and the Associated Press says that in this case it’s OK to abbreviate versus as vs.

Home Team vs. Away Team

However, in many other countries, it’s the opposite: the home team is listed first, and even the Associated Press tells its writers that if they are writing for the international wire, put the home team first and the away team second.

So that’s you quick and dirty tip: In court cases, it’s Plaintiff v. Defendant; and for sports, in the US, it’s Away Team vs. Home Team, but in many other countries, it’s Home Team vs. Away Team.
