Friday would be normal 4 days rest for Lester.

 

Butler is fine and all and I'm optimistic he can be a part of a future rotation, but he needs to string together more starts where he strikes out AAA hitters for me to consider him a preferable option to Montgomery, who has already turned in a promising month+ as a SP as a Cub.

yeah with the off day we can technically skip the 5th starter spot, but I thought I remember reading that they were anticipating Lester having an extra day off when they allowed him to throw 120 pitches on Sunday, so who knows.

I forgot Lester threw so many pitches on Sunday. Probably a good idea to move him to Sat and let either Monty or Butler start Friday. I think I saw somewhere where Joe said he wanted to wait and make sure they got today's game in before making a decision.

Nah, he booted it and didn't get in front of the ball when he had time to do so. He was too worried about trying to turn the DP instead of fielding it cleanly.

 

Nice job by Kyle to limit the damage to 1 run.

It was not. It was a weird play because of a shift. Javy was trying to do too many things at once, thinking he needed to make the play at second himself, as he wasn't sure if Seal Boy would be able to get to the bag. An he just booted it.
