If we're getting younger on D, why not trade Seabs

Because nobody wants him or his horrendous contract.

I realize that, I'm lamenting

All in all, we lose on Pan/Saad and tread water on Hammer/Murphy

consensus is complete opposite of this statement

Actually, Pan/Saad is the better deal. We get a younger player that can play both directions with more guaranteed years, and we get a backup goalie.

Yeah I like this deal a lot more than the Hjammer one. Saad is a beast two-way player and I hope DeBrincat can fill in for Panarin adequately.

With Saad the better defensive player, our D like stays about the same with the drop off from Hammer to Murphy while gaining Saad over Pararin.

However, there is a bigger loss of offense when you go from Panarin to Saad with Hammer and Murphy being about the same.

We gain in years and salary, but I stand by what I'm saying

1) You're still ignoring the other players involved in the deals.

2) When you get the playoffs, Panarin needs space to unleash the one-timers that he's so great at...and he won't have that space. Saad is going to be the better player in the playoffs, which what that Hawks need.

Made Kane's line weaker to make Toews' line stronger. Of course, Kane would score with me out there, so I think I'm good with this. I never really got attached to Hjammer, so I'll give that other dude a chance.

Hopefully Saad refocuses with you guys, because the feeling here was that he took games off (i.e. he disappeared for stretches of games) and his numbers show it

Man, I stay of the internets all day and no radio or tv and all hell breaks loose.

Without looking much into it at this point, I really like the Saad deal and am so so on the Hammer deal.

Oh and I can post this again:

Judging from the images turned up on a quick google search, Murphy will definitely play up to the gay male demographic.

now that the shock is gone, i'm really excited to have saad back. we'll probably end up bringing sharp back too. he might kind of suck, but it will still be cool.

I liked the Campbell idea because defensive depth seemed to be a legit concern and his skill set was supposed to match the needs, but a kind of sucky sharp seems rather pointless.
