Alright, 1-2-3 1st inning for Anderson. Put a few runs on the board early. Keep tacking on. And then fly the W.

 

What I meant to say was: "Anderson gives up three runs in the first. The Cubs come back and tie it. Anderson gives up two or three more. The Cubs get within a run a couple times and have multiple chances to take the lead with runners on base. And then the bullpen unravels and we lose 11-6."

So, if Lackey and Anderson pitch like this all season, we might be in trouble.

 

That said, obviously the offense is the issue at the moment.

If Lackey can go ~6 innings and give up 4 or less runs every outing I'm fine with that. Generally will give us a chance to win. The Dodgers hit Anderson as well as the Brewers are tonight in his last start just got fortunate with a lot of balls at guys/good defense. I'm fine trying to let him figure it out over the next few starts, but it could be Eddie Butler time soon.

My immediate reaction to that play was it was such a weird decision by Braun not to tag that it made Heyward's good decision look bad Edited by Gilby
