The likeliest outcome to me is Glennon is middling andwe have a young, drafted QB that gets some spot work next season. Then you're picking in the top half of the first round next year and aggressively in on Darnold, Rosen, Allen, and whoever emerges next season in college. Those guys will probably grade out higher than any QB in this draft.

Would be ideal if the Bears fall into Darnold or Rosen next year.

FWIW - sounds like Gilmore's deal is 5/70. Considering he is staying in division and going to the reigning champs, I imagine the Bears would have had to significantly beat that offer. Not sure Gilmore would be worth that cost. There are still some good CBs on the market, including Logan Ryan who the Pats won't be brigning back now (and I wonder if they can even retain Malcolm Butler).

And I guess they aren't out at Bouye yet. Titans frontrunner, but Bears have $13/m offer out ...

Pace needs to get Bouye and Alshon, or missing on both makes this FA year is a complete shitfest

Getting just one makes it a 1/2 shitfest, but he's better get a stud DB and QB in the draft

pretty much exact same type of signing.

Demps is good. I'd love to add a second S that's younger. But, Demps can help now. I'm not going to get pissed over signing a good player, playoffs are a possibility now or at least during his 3 years here.

Its okay if it doesn't preclude us from still pursuing younger impact safeties too, IMO.

He's 32, so there's very little chance he's here for 3 years.

Also, playoffs are a possibility for every team over a 3 year horizon.

this guy's going to be 32?

lol so far so good bears.

Demps is a good player. He might fall off the cliff next year, but PFF had him with an 85.2 grade last year. 7th highest ranked FA safety, and an easy upgrade. Demps and Amos is a nice safety combo.

Cheap signing, so shouldn't preclude anything else. I like the move a good bit.

Lol Bears

Demps is 32.....

If you can sign a guy for that cheap who just had that type of season because he's being undervalued because of age, it's a good move.

Demps is so old, though

Yea... basically a repeat of Antrelle Rolle. Hope this works out better

Wasn't Antrelle Rolle crappy for a few years before we signed him or am I remembering wrong? I don't remember being at all enthused about that signing.

Seriously. This. Demps is really good. This is a much better player than when we brought Rolle in.
