So, what did everyone get?

I got the "Fly the :flythew: " commemorative book. The commemorative SI. A really cool coffee mug with the names of the Cubs roster in the shape of the "W". And my wife also got me a skull cap that says........"Cubs 2016 NL Champions" ugh.

Got the DVD set that I didn't buy myself since I figured someone would get me it

Same here. Plus a hoodie I didn't have yet. My favorite thing was the one present I didn't get. Nobody bought me Al Yellon's book.

I have Amazon gift cards. Trying to parse out the best options for swag there since none of it is officially licensed

Kinda like this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MYLK8GS/ref=mp_s_a_1_44?ie=UTF8&qid=1482699697&sr=1-44&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=cubs+world+series+t+shirt&dpPl=1&dpID=41VRQuKYoTL&ref=plSrch

You can always get Cubs books and DVD's/Blu-Ray's over there. I got the Cubs WS Blu-Rays at Costco when they were available ($24.99 for the film, $49.99 for the 8-disc set), and they're now the same price on Amazon.

So, what did everyone get?

I got a flex-pack and thus will be attending several Cubs games next year, so I got plenty of clothing to wear to Wrigley Field. I definitely stocked up on memorabilia, and bought whatever I felt that I would want several years down the road. My condo is definitely much more blue than a few months ago!

Here's the final list:

- Four t-shirts - two generic Cubs sweat-wicking shirts and two licensed World Series championship shirts (non-locker room)

- "Raise the Flag" NL championship hoodie

- 3-in-1 Cubs jacket

- Cubs hat with WS Champions patch on side

- Cubs knit cap, scarf and gloves

- Several Cubs books (the WS coffee-table book and other Cubs reference books)

- Several Cubs commemorative magazines (Tribune, Sun-Times, Sports Illustrated, Life, and the official MLB magazine)

- Official World Series program

- Four WS tumbler glasses and coasters

- Chicago Tribune & Sun-Times papers from the day after NLCS Game 6 win, and Thursday-Sunday after WS Game 7 win

- Three World Series champions posters

- Two 20" by 16" framed pictures (#1 - Team posing with "W" flag after winning NL pennant at Wrigley; #2 - Pictures of West Side Grounds and Wrigley Field)

- WS Blu-Rays (Cubs film and 8-disc set)

- Ronnie Woo Woo DVD documentary and two Wrigley Field Blu-Ray documentaries

- A big 3' by 5' W flag

In addition, I have been reading some Cubs books from the local library to pass the time.

Go CUBS !!

I got a framed poster of the outside Wrigley celebration and a Tervis cup from my mom, a Christmas tree ornament from the in-laws, and my brother got me the Tribune book and the 8 disc Blu-ray set.

I also gave my son a 12 month size championship t-shirt to wear during next season.

I still have the in-laws Christmas to go, but surprisingly I have not gotten anything Cubs related for Christmas. I dont get many gifts, but the three I got, not one was Cubs related. Maybe my family thought the two beer related gifts would serve a better purpose helping me deal with my two kids.

out of curiosity, if not beer, what's a beer related gift?

Got a Javy Baez tee, the hoodie the team wore at the parade, a polo with the WS logo, a couple of the hats, a replica trophy and the Tribune commemorative book featuring the newspaper sports covers of the Cubs for the past 100 years (including the WS win covers). Also supposedly got the framed Tribune cover press plate but it didn't arrive in time for Christmas.

There's a couple things that were on my list that I'm seeing if I can get cheap/on sale.

Can anybody who has the 8 disc or the 2 disc blu ray help me out? With the 8 disc blu ray I read some reviews on Amazon that the games are edited poorly and commercial breaks just go from game action to game action, also that the Pat and Ron broadcasts aren't synced up very well, how accurate is this? For the two disc blu ray I know the main feature is the Vince Vaughn documentary, but what other special features are there and what is on the second disc?

I have the 8 Disc Blu Ray, and I have watched the 5 victories from start to finish with Pat and Ron( Haven't watched the 3 losses)

There are a few spots where you don't get sound right away or after a new inning begins you get Pat in mid sentence but the game action is synced really well. You also have to remember Fox or FS1 often times came back after commercial right as the first pitch began thanks to them squeezing in as much advertising as possible. It is really worth the money $50 on Amazon right now. I paid $79 I think from Fanatics.

As for the two disc set, I have it but have not watched it, I do believe the 2nd disc is a digital copy.

The special features include regular season and postseason highlights, along with parade highlights. There is also an interview with David Ross.

As for the second disc, it's just a DVD copy of the film.

So on the way home from christmas, I commented to my wife that it was weird I didn't get one cubs related thing, especially since when my mom asked what I wanted, I had mentioned the 8 disc Blu ray. I told my wife that since I didn't get that, I'll just go and buy it myself since it's the one thing I really wanted. The next day, my wife (after texting with my mom) tells me that my mom did indeed buy it, but it apparently didn't come in time for christmas. That's cool, I'll take it a little late, no big deal. However, that's apparently not what is going to happen. She said that my mom is thinking about saving it for my birthday present. Which is in July.

So what do I do about this? Do I suck it up and wait, or do I tell her I want it now, birthday be damned? I love Christmas, but this is exactly why I hate getting presents, because without presents I would already have this and have watched it a million times.

Buy it yourself, save the receipt, in July return the birthday gift unopened for store credit.

I held off until Christmas for the most part. I'd only bought the Tribune front page printer sheet prior to the holidays. I wound up with quite a haul...

The gray World Champions locker room hat

Knitted cap that Javy was wearing at the rally

Under Armour jacket with a W flag patch on the sleeve and a World Series patch on the chest (not the one Hoyer wore at the rally, the other one that was linked in this thread.)

World Series Champs Christmas ornament

The Vince Vaughn narrated film on DVD

Blue World Series champs hoodie.

Gray WS champs locker room tshirt.

A plaque with the team picture and the scores of each of the WS games (not pictured: Tommy LaStella)

Non World Series gear:

A South Bend Cubs sweatshirt

A canvas picture of Wrigley taken from the press box

Really glad I waited til Christmas.
