Good luck everybody.

I am probably on the older side for this board, and I must admit I had a little sobbing spell in the bottom of the eighth Game 6 against the Dodgers. Just came out of nowhere.

Growing up, nobody talked about 1908. It was always 1945. And the "curse" was not to even make the World Series. I suppose interleague play has blurred the NL/AL distinction.

The NLCS was huge because of the sheer heartbreak of 1984 and 2003. That was my personal hurdle to overcome. And now my overriding emotion is the fear of Chapman losing the game in the 9th or later.

I am not a drinker but I have a few bottles of Mike's set aside for tonight to deaden my nerves.

Everybody else: ENJOY!

I am a girl scout leader and we have a meeting tonight that doesn't get over until 7:30. I was planning on leaving early, but just found out one of my co-leaders cannot come tonight because she has some church thing so I have to be there the whole time. Some how God is deemed more important than Cubs in game 7. I will be streaming it on my phone during the meeting.

Take them to a bar!!

i might actually sob uncontrollably if it happens which is not something i do frequently at all.

Glad to hear you do not sob uncontrollably on a regular basis.

Ha. Twice since I wasn't a small child.

Well I too am nervous. But I'm optimistic for this game. I like our chances and even if they do not win, they gave us baseball til November.

Time to bring this trophy to Chicago.

I'm going to listen to Pat this game and watch with the sound down. I did it for the NL games, but I want to do for this game to have the emotional connection with what I'm hearing and watching. I'm going to record it and delay it so I can sync the pbp with the picture.

David has never been programmed to sob.

Oh man, I haven't posted on NSBB in a LONG time but seeing this game thread is special. Never thought I'd see the day.

This is truly the first game of the postseason that I have been nervous about before the game. It has gotten too real now. It has finally sunk in.

The Cubs could be World Champions in five hours.

With apologies to my wife and kids, this could be the best day of my life.

Do you guys know what the deal is with the wrigley bars tonight?

Cover charges still? On one hand, it's a road game...on the other, it's horsefeathering game 7

I thought someone said a page or 2 back that there were $100 covers

Go to G-Man Tavern just past The Metro. Drank there all last weekend. No cover and $4 beers. They were taking donations for a local charity at the bar but that's it.

Seconded. Was there Friday and it was fine other than the game outcome.

They also had Zombie Dust.

I just got home from work, and my playlist just now brought up the Blackhawks 2010 cup run highlights, and I thought that when the Cubs had that great 9th inning comeback against the Giants, how similar it was in improbability to the Hawks game 5 win against the Predators, when Hossa took a major penalty late in the 3rd while trailing by 1, Kane scored a shorthanded goal to tie it and Hossa scored the OT game winner after coming out of the box, and they went on to erase their history of futility, creating a dynasty as well. I for one hope history repeats itself.

Geez, between you and brinoch it really is reunion week.

Hey, if not now then when? I just haven't had the kind of time I used to have to be so active in message boards but man oh man is checking NSBB out taking me down memory lane!

It's actually been a pretty calm Series for me (thank you whiskey!) but this morning and all day I have been nervous as horsefeathers. My mom would be going nuts tonight if she were still around. Go Cubs.

My anxiety sort of went down once we were down 3-1 and stayed down even last night, but is peaking today!

I've never wanted the Cubs to score first more badly in my life.

It doesn't feel like it'd take much to completely silence the crowd in Cleveland. They have just about as much PTSD as we do with this stuff.

This may be the most optimistic thing you've ever posted.
