Intellicast is calling for a 22% chance of rain at gametime, increasing to 31% at 8 ET, 43% at 9 ET, and 49% at 10 ET. They'll probably have to play through some of it, but I think they get it in.

 

Then again, this site seems to be a little more optimistic than others.

Kluber is their best pitcher by far and we looked very good against Miller, and so long as Arrieta doesn't completely blow up we should win this game and head home with HFA.

imagine it's opening day. think of how happy you'd be if you knew that 7 months later the cubs would be down 1-0 in the world series with a beleaguered cleveland rotation incoming.

 

if they lose, you'll look back on today and wonder why the horsefeathers you weren't thrilled with the golden opportunity in front of us.

eh, it sucked, Kluber looked great, the ump was horrific, the at-bats we had were miles ahead of where we were in those games against Kershaw and Hill

I am actually quite annoyed about how little this loss bothered me. That combined with the fact that I wasn't super nervous for the game yesterday makes me believe I am "happy to be here" which is not the mentality I want to have.

 

 

If you're looking for silver linings, I think the Cubs hitters actually looked better than the Indians hitters despite the results being different. I think we more consistently took better ABs, made good adjustments, hit for more overall power besides whats his face on Cleveland.

I wish I didn't care much just because it makes me question my sanity. Like, I didn't care as much pre game but once we feel behind and lost I couldn't sleep because I'm like "what if we don't get here again? We gotta get it done" I feel like I'm a grown person, why does millionaires playing sports do this to me.

That is almost certainly our most optimal offensive lineup. The only thing I don't like is that there are 4 straight righties at the bottom of the order facing a staff with almost all righties.

The Spiegel tweets about this went on to talk about Contreras at catcher and Schwarber at DH, which would be about as offensive of a lineup as you can put out there. The Contreras part might have been speculation as opposed to insider info though...
