Man, I really think that early bad strike to Bryant messed them up. That hurts a team like the Cubs a lot as disciplined as they are. Forced them to expand the zone early and they've just struggled. Kluber has been fantastic, but not quite as good as the numbers look.

That wasn't a strike. Ask the guy who watched it on gameday

Bring on robot umps, until they tell me something I don't like. Then I'll trust my eyes, just like the umpires I hate.

And Kluber has been great. He's hitting his spots. If they're going to give him 3-4 inches off the plate, hit that spot.

And he has.

Sorry I'm not overreacting like the rest of you.

Everyone says eff the umpires and bring on robot umps but when you present data from robot umps, it gets ignored or brushed off. I've been following on Gameday also. Go through there and look at the pitches Kluber's getting. They're largely correct.

Yes, the ump has missed a couple. But he's missed some that hurt Cleveland also but that gets ignored.

That's how it works when you're on a board full of people that want the Cubs to win.

What has happened to you? You really took that soccer comment in the Schwarber thread seriously. It's like you're being intentionally anti-Cub. It's probably not as bad as we're making it out to be with the calls....but what is your purpose of this post? Be pissed off too, this is the biggest game we've ever seen.

I just hate the super overreactionary stuff. It's terrible and annoying when Ski and Rondon Fan do it in the regular season and it's annoying now. I get people are frustrated. I'm frustrated also. But the posts that are suggesting the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game are ridiculous and wrong. Just because the ump blows a call or two doesn't mean that he's the worst ump ever. And just because he blows one call doesn't mean he's blowing every close pitch. You can't tell what's a strike on the screen because of the angle. People have pointed out in previous games and in this one that FOX's zone on the screen sometimes sucks (like the one where the top of the zone was clearly below the batter's belt).

Barely anyone has given Kluber any sort of credit for pitching a great game, which is what he's done. And barely anyone has acknowledged that Lester is a bit off tonight.

Kluber is amazing tonight, but he is clearlt getting a generous zone. I don't know how you don't realize that you're being a contrarian prick. horsefeathers off and go post on a white sox board.

Listen if you want me to make a gif illustrating that the Gameday zone isn't accurate today, we can make that happen. Yes, the Cubs deficit is more about Kluber than the umpiring, but that's what makes the poor calls especially exasperating, because he didn't need them. You're making a fool of yourself.

To be fair, I don't think FOX's K zone and Gameday's are quite on the same page.

I've had to listen to Jon Miller & Aaron Boone, b/c the Xfinity reps can't figure out how to enable me to view Fox Sports Go on Roku even after I added horsefeathering cable. I COULD watch on the computer, but our monitor died this weekend.

FMFL. I'm taking off tomorrow to get this sorted.

The problem isn't balls being called strikes for Kluber. It's balls being called strikes for Kluber, and balls in the same spot not being called strikes for Lester. Which is something you can see on the screen. And a ton of people have given Kluber credit. And literally nobody has implied that the ump is singlehandedly costing the Cubs the game.

Which one was called 4 inches outside? Strikes 2 and 5 were both swung at.

are you just upset because Schwarber is alive?

Unless you completely believe he's a generationally great hitter, he's not going to step in after that long of a layoff and be crushing the ball against major league pitching of the Indians' caliber, and I don't particularly give a horsefeathers how unpopular that opinion is.

Wrong soccer

man you guys all look the same hahahhaa

I don't like FOX's either. I trust Gameday and Brooks a hell of a lot more.
