Fowler, Bryant, Zo gives you three righties in a row for Hill to navigate, but probably more so, since Rizzo has been struggling, Zo batting 3rd forces them to feed Bryant more then Rizzo would batting 3rd Edited by minnesotacubsfan

I just realized he also flipped Zobrist and Rizzo. What an odd decision.

Maybe he liked the idea of RRRLRRRL in the lineup, with the ability to shift to LRLL at the top of the order if a RH comes in?

It's odd because he's resisted moving Bryzzo 2-3 all season and has said how much he likes Zo as protection. Maybe with as well as Javy's been hitting he deems him to be suitable protection for Rizzo because I don't think any opponent is excited about pitching to Javy right now.

Its not like Zobrist is hitting the crap out of the ball either.

He still gives you good ABs most of the time and he's had some bad luck recently.

Game 1: Lineout, Walk, Popped up, Double

Game 2: Lineout, Fly out to warning track, K looking

That's solid contact or solid result in 5 of his 7 PA in the NLCS

A KB two-run homer in the first sure would help me feel a lot better.

I would expect nothing less from Jake than a no hitter then.

+Baez, Soler, Russell

And of course Jake. I expect offense tonight.

To not get any would be offensive.

This is good. What I would have liked to have seen is the overall caliber of pitcher the other 3 remaining teams have faced so far in the postseason. I'm guessing the AL teams wouldnt compare, but its probable the Dodgers have faced a similar cumulative gauntlet having faced Scherzer, Roark, Lester and Hendricks in 5 of their 7 games along with 2 solid pens (though I'm sure Dusty didn't maximize the usage of his best relievers so there is probably some crappy middle relievers in there)

Joe on the Score says Miggy is catching tonight and he is considering moving Russell down but hasn't committed to the idea yet

Guess his back is ok. Why no Contreras though? :(

Miggy is Jake's catcher

Daddy, I want my own personal catcher!

Il probably regret this later but the odds of a ball going to soler that he won't catch that heyward does then costing us the game can't be that high. I get the choice in a long season but in one game...the offense has been meh...give it a shot.

No worse than the odds he gets a big hit off a tough lefty. Plus if we have the lead after the 5th inning Soler will be coming out for Heyward.

I just read that and then played with baseball savant numbers, and it seems like the cubs have done a good job of making good contact but without results.

I believe it....its things like that which make the playoffs a crapshoot. We should feel happy we are 4-2 thus far because with better luck we win this series going away.

My Cubs obsession is at an all time low as I find myself rocking out to Julianna Zobrist at work to pump me up for the game.

I....I feel alive....I feel like the air is rushing in

Ever so slightly saving face, its in a spotify playlist of Cubs walkup songs
