that about sums it up, as it just isn't the same backing into a win like that

Yes, but before backing in, we also switched gears to go forward and run over their lifeless bodies several times. There's no shame in partying the next day, when there is still half a month of baseball left.

of the official shirts, this one should have been the locker room one

This are terrible, even if we're going to score

Those are really shitty, last years playoff stuff was equally as bad

Thank you.

93 wins on 9/15 isn't backing in. Sorry they couldn't sequence their wins in a manner to clinch on the field.

Yep. You never back into a 17-game lead.

To further continue the metaphor... We backed in our sleek, luxurious sports car, careful not to put any scratches on it. And everyone else is in their Ford Pintos, still sputtering down the road.

it's partially because of the way they won it, but more because it's been clear for months that they would win the division pretty handily, and it's also been clear that there are much bigger goals than just the division.

apparently there are still quite a few expletives to be changed to the horsefeathers filter.

I'm just going to start typing horsefeathers, so as to not take any chances.

Bullpoop seems to be the most glaring omission.

All postseason apparel is trash

i would unabashedly wear garish ugly World Series apparel though

I have one stanley cup shirt that I still wear. recently found another shirt and a hat that I probably never wore and have no intentions of ever wearing

I would assume all of the 2009 highs would be just be fallout from 2008's awesomeness and everyone expecting 2009 to be great.

well, yeah, but i just didn't understand why we weren't beating it.

by the way, that 2004 game that got beat was the 2004 prior/clemens game where todd walker just missed the cycle and instead hit a 2nd HR. i totally remember watching that. and then i watched real world san diego and found out that a phobia of tall boats was a thing.

TV numbers for pretty much down for everything when you look at a timeframe like that due to all of the the changes in watching/streaming/etc. options.
