What's with all the punk-ass begging in this thread?

Yeah, if my years on message boards has taught me anything players only respond to a good stern yellin' none of this begging garbage

I think Joe seems so much more subdued these days because he tired himself out from all of the screaming he did.

And look at where all that screamin' got us!

The Bears game is painful to watch. I was hoping it'd fill the 12-3 void. 3:00 can't come fast enough.

So on FS1, they're talking about Fowler being a key to the offense and pointing to his absence as a reason they slumped earlier. Meanwhile, they have a graphic showing 5.1 runs per game with Fowler and 5.2 rpg without him, next to showing the Cubs had a 2.68 ERA with him and 4.22 during the 38 games he was out. I wonder which one of those things mattered more.

They just announced that Russell is the first Cubs shortstop to get 80 RBI since Ernie in '61.

That's a long time.

Are these called strikes to Soler and Russell as bad as game day is making it out to be?

Strike one to Soler looked bad. Strike 3 to addy looked legit

Exhibit A on why this team shouldn't bunt. Lots of Ks, which makes outs more valuable. Lots of extra base power, negating the need to move runners over.

Maybe we can swing on hanging changeups down the heart of the plate?

Still, a run and 30 pitches on Urias who probably has a leash of 80-90 pitches isn't bad.

Cubs are really only middle of the pack in K%, and Zobrist is a prime DP candidate. With Russell as hot as he's been, the move makes logical sense.
