Giants win the mlb award for best team defense. Had no idea such a thing existed, but how about the historical greatness of the cubs' defense?

Well, that's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

what a nice consolation prize

lol, they really gave a first baseman the platinum glove? It's even funnier considering there are like 3 or 4 players on Rizzo's own team who are better defensively at their positions than he is at his.

Rizzo won defensive player of the year, another award i did not know existed.

Before anyone gets too confused, they have one for each position.

wait he also won the platinum glove, which apparently is the best fielder in each league

My money is on Zobrist winning the Myrrh Glove.

The fact that Max won in a runaway is a joke. Only three first place votes for Lester and Hendricks combined is a fail among the writers. Yes, max is very good, but it's insane for voters to make him appear to have year head and shoulders better than Jon and Kyle

I wouldn't have had Hendricks in my top 5 of voting.

That's a bit much, there's a more than logical argument for him to be at the top of the list. But really it's no outrage that Scherzer won, and the actual voting tallies are zero surprise since Lester and Hendricks were going to split the homer/local vote.

I would have had Syndergaard and Fernandez 1-2. They were the best pitchers in the National League in FIP and WAR and were near the top in ERA and strikeouts. Hendricks would have been 4th for me at best.
