Why did we trade gleyber for this piece of [expletive] again

He closed both ends of a doubleheader Tuesday, had a day off, closed yesterday, and threw a bunch in the pen tonight. He's human.

Defense was horrendous on top of the awful bullpen. I know we are way ahead but losing games that you are completely in control of is never good

I seriously thought if I had to root for this garbage person at least he'd actually be good enough to be worth feeling like an horsefeathers

They're 18-4 over the last 22. Don't be stupid.

Moral of the story tonight is lets get the horsefeathers out of this stupid place where baseball shouldn't be played. Also someone run over Travis if you see him in the city next week.

Garbage human

My point was I was against the trade at the time because even he isn't good enough to be enough of an upgrade over what we had to make a tangible impact worth giving up what we gave up (especially for a couple months). Even with the bad luck of suddenly having our other two best relievers hurt, it's actually playing out even worse than that.

Chapman really shouldn't pitch until the Dodgers series next weekend in an ideal world

Or any world in which our other relief options are:

An inconsistent Carl Edwards

Justin Grimm who is apparently hated by Maddon

Travis Wood

...and 2 rookies

(Not including Montomery/Cahill at the moment)

Our team is so good we'll overcome it most nights, but still it's annoying.

Edwards has given up 0 or 1 baserunner in 14 of his last 15 outings. Grimm is hated by Maddon so much that he was given 8th inning duty in a 2 run game in his last outing.

Still need to see Edwards succeed in high leverage spots consistently. I was referring more to the random demotion of Grimm before all the injuries.

Maybe we can stop blowing so many games in the 8th? My god.

This loss lowers the Cubs winning percentage to .824 in August.

The difference between the Cubs and the 2nd best team (Nats/Rangers) is the same as the difference between the 2nd and 8th/9th best teams.

The difference between the Cubs and Cards (12 games) is 0.5 less than the difference between the Cards and A's (22nd best team).

Grimm was demoted because he has options. Edwards has been great.

Please consider how annoyed you are by a Cubs team on pace to win 103 games and has won 18 of their last 22. How miserable it must be to have these be the thoughts you dwell on.

They're now 69-4 when leading after 7 how are you NOT panicking?!?!?!

As long as Strop and Rondon get back and Chapman isn't hurt, I'm not annoyed, beyond standard "I should have gone to bed" emotions.
