Well if it's an ACL tear we probably won't see him until around this time next year.

Wait. What? We will see him by like May. Maybe even April.

Probably 9 month recovery plus Cubs being conservative plus rehab etc. I dunno maybe Late June? I'm just spitballing, I know nothing and have been drinking.

I feel like someone else has taken over this account and occasionally makes Cubs win posts in his absence.

How [expletive] unlucky would we be to suffer two ACL injuries in a year, in a sport where they rarely occur?

I guess we've been blessed to have basically no major injuries to our starting staff for 2 years running, knock on wood

Holy horsefeathers Aroldis live is a spectacle. I seen him live against in the crazy Mariners come back but he was throwin even harder tonight.

The more I see the Strop play the more I think it's either his ankle or Achilles and not a knee injury.

I don't think its his achilles cause he took a couple of steps afterwards and was in some pain, with achilles he doesn't ever make it off of the ground. I'm thinking hamstring or quad. Hoping for cramps.

He's not getting carried off the field for a cramp

Knees seem to be 50 50 sprain vs tear. Hope its the sprain. Ive seen bad knee pops come back mcl sprains. Hell there was hope schwarbers knee was just a sprain & its looked like it got ran through over by a semi.

Even an MCL tear he's done until the playoffs at least.

wouldn't an mcl tear put him out for like a year too?

There was no hope, just denial...

I think it depends on the grade - cutler had that one and played football on it for a few series.

Only if your name is Derrick Rose.

Usually like six to eight weeks. For sure not a year. And, guys, an ACL no longer shelves pro athletes for a year.

4 with Cardinals and 4 with the Brewers in Wrigley, and then a trip to Coors

the pieces are in place to make a run at 20 in a row

Yeah aren't MCL/ACL tears about the same for recovery? Meniscus' can be a short turn around though, I believe

Don't we have a resident physician here?

What's up with this [expletive] site Tim?

The worst MCL is a Grade 3 and it's like six to eight weeks. What is wrong with you people? Haha.

you can't fully tear an MCL to the point that it requires surgical repair? i doubt that would heal in a max of 8 weeks.

MCL doesn't require surgery unless it's part of a larger ACL injury, which case the ACL is screwed and he needs surgery on that. Think Rob Gronkowski a few years ago.
