Joe Maddon has to really enjoy making lineups. There's almost no wrong answers.

It's a much more fun version of Dusty Dice.

Much respect to Logan for the streak, but

a) Who puts the Cardinals TV station in the Game Thread title?

b) And among those people, who would put that FIRST?

I don't care which local station St Louis fans will turn to in order to watch their team get beat down.

Just copying info from the Google Schedule. I live in the south, I don't know what FSMW is.

FSMW has been removed, just like the Cardinals hopes and dreams after this series.

Looking at that lineup, there is only 1 person that was on the Cubs roster on Opening Day 2015 against the Cardinals (Rizzo).

Just a reminder, that lineup was

Fowler, CF (hurt today)

Soler, RF (now a LF and on the DL)

Rizzo, 1B (starting tonight)

Castro, SS (now a 2B and sub replacement level for the Yankees)

Coghlan, LF (discarded and then brought back to be our 5th OF)

Olt, 3B (blind)

Ross, C (still Lester's backup guy but infinitely more awesome in the eyes of Cubs fans)

Lester, P (now 2nd best pitcher)

LaStella, 2B (clubbed by poachers; on DL)

Mike Olt as our opening day 3b is extremely grim. (obviously they were treading water before Bryant's glorious appearance)

Also good god that outfield defense of Coghlan-Fowler Pre Adjustment - Soler must have been heinous

Well, crap. Stupid hamstring injuries. Oh well, at least we have a 12.5 game lead and have a gaggle of All-Stars all over the field, with stud young prospects to fill in everywhere else.

I remember someone predicting this exact scenario playing out. But, Matheny kept Diaz in the 8-hole when he was OPS'ing 3.000 or whatever for a whole month, and then he finally moved him up to the two-hole and Diaz has a .572 OPS there in 112 PA. And he hasn't move him back down yet.

This may be a preview of a very popular (and good) 2017 Cubs lineup, but it still doesn't have a guy who OPS'd .842 as a rookie, with 5 playoff HRs at 22 years old; nor a guy who OPS'd 1.7 in the playoffs last year and 1.084 for 2 weeks before he got hurt.
