Well, that's some nice off-day news.

Federowicz being gone is obviously the most likely accompanying move. I imagine they'll have Contreras mostly catch one pitcher in particular (Hammel?) to get his feet wet.

I wouldn't be surprised if the accompanying move was to put Miggy back on the DL. He just hasn't looked right

I could see a Montero DL stint. To me, that'd make MORE sense. Not enough playing time for the 3 of WC, Montero, and Ross.

That is the most obvious, unless Montero goes to DL.

Yeah, I almost added that that wouldn't stun me either. And the way he's playing, I'd be on board with it.

Doubt it. They'll want him to play if he comes up I'd think. So I think Miggy or Ross is hurt. Ross got his bell rung yesterday.

Exactly. I don't get calling him up if it's just to be one of the three main guys. 3 catchers is no fun.

His is the first time I've noticed that his first name has two L's and now I like him less

I am going to be very interested to see what the numbers say about pitch framing and all that stuff once we get a decent enough sample size. I think Ross is doing a great job behind the plate and minus the issues blocking pitches and throwing out runners, Miggy is as well. If Contreras struggles framing pitchers and managing the game behind the plate it changes the dynamic of the team a tiny bit.

Coomer said Ross might have suffered a concussion yesterday so I'm guessing that's the reason as predicted.

Concussion DL is only 7 days right?
