The fact that strop warmed up so quickly concerns me. Like his back isn't right

His back was just fine two days ago when he mowed down Arizona on 8 pitches. Strop was warming quickly because there's no time to mess around in the bottom of the ninth.

If Hector came out because of injury, Strop would get as long as he needed to warm up.

Valid point. Don't know why Strop got up so fast then because Rondon has been almost unhittable this year and is the closer. You usually don't warm someone up when the closer is in unless things get really dicy

Ryan Howard scares me against the Cubs, even in 2016.

The Cubs are excellent and Howard is maybe the worst player in the league.

Don't have the stats to back me up but it seems like he always hurts us until this year. Last year is no exception.

It may not be the case, but it seems like Grimm is [expletive] pathetic when coming in during blowouts.

It seems that when relievers who are used in high leverage situations come into what seems to be a laugher, they struggle. It's almost as though they come in overconfident, or with the expectation that the opposition just wants it to be over.

I'd like to see his his high leverage vs. low leverage stats, where do you go to find those?

I think I'm spoiled in that I'm more upset about the blown RD than I am happy about the win.

Why isn't there a hate button here. Stop this nonsense.

After all those years of suck, they just wanted to see what it was like on the other side of the fake rally for once. Let the 15% full crowd start to get excited for a few minutes before sending them home more pissed than they were 10 minutes earlier. It's fine, the Cubs are just bored.

40 wins on June 6th hahahahaha

here you go.

Adjust the split to see medium and high leverage. I didn't really find it illuminating, though.

Does anyone else here care next to nothing about run diff? I'm actually more concerned about Rondon not getting many high leverage opportunities than stupid RD. It seems like dumb fantasy sports driven nonsense. Just win a gazillion games and go to the playoffs, FFS.

Run differential has nothing to do with fantasy sports. But it's the proof of just how good we are and we are utterly dominant, so it's fun. The more runs they score and the fewer they allow, the more games they're likely to win.

Who cares about getting save opportunities?

Like, do you want the team to play worse and rely more on luck or something just so that Rondon can have more high leverage spots?

No, but you all do seem to talk about it in a rather annoying fashion a bit too much. Like me saying bitches but if I said it in 75 percent of my posts.

Run differential does mean that a team is good. But we know this team is good at this point.

I could take it a step further and go on and on about base run differential, which is even more indicative about true talent level.

Of course I'd rather be so far ahead that the closer isn't needed. Maybe I'm alone, but this RD nonsense seems stupid. The Cubs are awesome. Cool. I am loving this season, but a +200 run differential doesn't give a bye to the NLCS, so I couldn't give 2 shits, honestly.
