No offense to Addison, whom I love dearly, but #VoteSeager. Home field advantage might actually be useful to the Cubs this year, and I'd rather have the best shortstop in the national league up the middle, not the 7th.

i'd be a little disappointed but i wouldn't complain if seager took over at SS. he's way more deserving.

I want my all Cub IF. He can come off the bench and get a big hit late so that game 1 of the WS is at Wrigley.

HFA in baseball isn't all that meaningful, and if we lose the ASG, then we can win the WS at home when we sweep!

Besides Seager and Story will both make it meaning Addison will get 2 PA max before being replaced. It's unlikely those 2 PA decide whether the Cubs win the World Series or not. Let's just have fun with it.

From Jesse Rogers:

No change in write-in voting for Cubs catcher David Ross. He leads the NL in that category but hasn't cracked the top 5 in voting for catchers.

HFA in baseball isn't all that meaningful

It is very meaningful to people with Season Tickets.

true, but with the fairly decent possibility that games 6 and definitely 7 never happen, it's not THAT big of a deal from that angle, i think.

plus we're definitely winning in 4 or 5 so

Yes, whenever I picture the Cubs winning the World Series, I always imagine it being like the Red Sox and White Sox that once they get over that hump (for the Red Sox it was the Yankees, for the White Sox it was getting to the WS), they just steamroll through the WS in a sweep.

I can tell you this. When they make the WS I'm going to a game that is not a possible elimination game and am selling any potential WS clinching games. Those prices are going to be unreal.*

*Or, I could sell my pretty good seats and buy less good seats and still be there.

Yeah, I keep trying to talk my dad into this. Hell, I'm even saying just go to the first Wrigley game and sell the rest, including any possible elimination game.

Also, I think I would enjoy being at a game earlier in a series than later. Going to Game 4 of the NLCS SUCKED last year. If it was Game 1 or Game 2 I probably would have been much more, "sucks we lost, but at least I went to a NLCS game."

Call me old or whatever, but as much as I would love being there when they win, the thought of being stuck in the wilds of Wrigleyville after that just does not sound appealing at all. Everything would be shut down.

Being in the park would be amazing, but just the crowd during and after the Royals scheduled WS parade was bad enough. Our families plan has always been (and we had them reserved last season) was to be in a hotel downtown to just be in the city.

Edit: also, have you ever thought about the other team not being able to get out? That would really suck for them. I believe the players' wives commented when they saw the new clubhouse that they just plan on possibly staying in the clubhouse overnight if they win at home.

Yeah, my family's place is right off of North Avenue by the lake, and that would be plenty close enough for me. Hell, I could go around the corner to the Twin Anchors and live out The Show commercial:

Things are really tightening up at 2B, 3B and SS. Rizzo and Fowler look like locks.

Anyone who hasn't voted yet and wants to see 5 horsefeathering Cubs start the ASG, vote now! 5 each day until Thursday (last day to vote).

There's no email validation. You can put anything in there after each block of five votes and stuff the ballot as much as you want. I just put in about 50 or so votes for (Cubs - Montero + Posey).
