I'd like to think his cold, calculating mind simply decided that instead of hitting the ball hard at someone he will simply hit hard to somewhere where nobody can catch it.

2016 fWAR:

Ben Zobrist - 2.9

Starlin Castro - 0.0

Nice, I might have had the most incorrect bold prediction in the bold prediction thread by saying Starlin would double Zobrist's WAR. Man this dude is impressive.

I think they just simultaneously donged today, which is kinda hot.

Bahahahaha.

I'm going to remember this game when we have another stretch of crappy luck.

Somebody explain to me why Russell didn't need to apply a tag there.

Runner ruled outside the baseline.

CUBS are 12-2 (.857) when they hit at least 2 HRs.... 21-12 (.636) when they don't

CUBS are 27-1 (.964) when they score 5 runs or more.... 6-13 (.316) when they don't

Go CUBS !!

They called the runner out for leaving the baseline before Zobrist even got the ball to first. This is also why the run doesn't count, since that and the forceout happened before he crossed the plate.

This team is back to strutting around with its amazeballs offense and to be honest it feels great

I know it's currently a run differential game, but I want a 4 run inning because we have 4 run innings every game.

Am I wrong thinking that wasn't an error?? Hard hit ball took a high hop.

I had that thought for a moment too, but at the same time, Galvis didn't have to range far, and if that was hit right at someone in a normal fielding position it's a clear cut error, so I think that's the right call.

Like ski, I'm gonna remember this game and keep it in a little vial to salve my concerns the next time a bunch of dumb stuff happens to the Cubs
