Good lord, we are 28-11, going on 29-11, with a 6.5 game lead on the division (with the player who just got injured hitting like .210). We have an outfielder getting ready to come off the DL that's been pretty good. And we have several guys that were top-ten prospects that we can roll our for a month and see how they do. Why in the hell would we need a rental?

i mean, did you read my posts? i wondered if we'd eventually be looking at somebody, because we're going to be in the playoffs, and it would make sense to load up as much as possible. of course we don't need anybody, and staying in house is the most reasonable option. but if they can find a nice corner outfielder for a decent price, then why not?

but yeah, all i did was wonder if they'd be looking at a safer bet for an everyday player, since i already thought they might be looking at an upgrade for left field around the deadline. this is a conversation with the playoffs in mind when we want to roll out the most stacked lineup possible.

I hate when we tee off on a starter, then a LR comes in and mows us down

I would like this to happen everyday.

Yeah I guess that's true

Man I really wish Jake could find a way to preserve pitches. 80 pitches and still only 4 1/3 IP

The Giants are just being annoying and patient.

Making moves for the playoffs is kind of a fool's errand

I have no explanation for this, but it feels like five runs won't be enough to win tonight. Not sure why I'm saying that, though.

Your improvement was short lived

No, I'm not worried about it though. If it happens, it happens. Just feeling like it's been a ton of work to get these guys out.

true, but if we have a front office that is great at finding good value through trades, and we don't have a lot of places to upgrade, then why not?

I'm pretty optimistic but this Jake is mediocre at best. Miss a bat for the love of God.

I haven't been watching very closely, but he has 5 K's in 4.2 IP? And the Giants are a high contact team.

I don't see how 1 run through 5 is mediocre at best

Yeah this guy isn't an ace. Maybe last 7. Also I'm slightly shitfaced but I've been uncomfortable in every one of this guy's start. Enjoy your $210m in Los Angeles Jake

6 k's thru 5 against the best contact team in baseball. Wish some of you would not post meatbally horsefeathers.

Whoa I said I was drunk and that's not a joke. But seriously he isn't missing bats enough. Also validate best contact team in baseball.

If you can't sit back and enjoy this stretch of baseball by Jake there is something wrong with you.

13 of 14 batters retired by soft underbelly of a Giants pen. The exception being a HBP Edited by UMFan83

From a cursory look, I have the Giants making contact on 32 or 40 swings. So 80%. Jake's averaged a contact% of 77% this year and 76% last year. The Gaints make contact on over 81% of swings as a team. Seems fine to me.
