I haven't seen the play but was that bunt back to Lester an easy throw to first for the out?

 

I think in most situations, Lester would have attempted a throw. But with 2 on in a tie game in the 7th, he had to calculate the risk of making a routine throw to first/throwing the ball away which would have scored the go ahead run vs. trying to pitch out of a bases loaded 0 out situation. Very badass of him to pitch out of it though.

I mean, some people excel by motivating themselves with the 'never good enough' mindset even when they're objectively in the upper 1% at what they do.

it was a pretty easy out for normal pitchers, but in that situation with lester i concede it probably wasn't worth the risk of throwing it away.
