I'm glad Baez is okay. I'm really worried about Zobrist and his performance so far in ST. I'm hoping we get the Zobrist from 16' and not last year's version.

We really need a healthy Baez if Zobrist doesn't bounce back.

I’m glad that this roster is deep enough that Zobrist can perform like a washed up bench player and the team will still be fine.

Davis was with Boston when Bogaerts dropped his K rate from 23% in 2014 to 15%, 17%, 18% the last 3 years. I’m hoping there can be a similar effect on Javy to get him down from 28% to 21-23%

Edit also will add Jackie Bradley was at 28% and 27% in 14 and 15 and the least two years has been at 22%.

It would be awesome to see whatever Davis preaches knock the K-rates down 3-8% on all of Javy, Happ and Schwarber and Russell and Contreras to a lesser degree as where they currently are at around 22% isn’t overly problematic.

I get that of all the core players, Baez will probably contribute the least value to the team. But it's already pretty much guaranteed that I'll be more excited to look back at his highlights than anyone else on this team. It'd be like if Luc Longley also threw down windmill dunks or something.

There are better players, but Javy is my favorite.

well at least until the Cubs lecture the fun out of him.

As long as Maddon is around, he'll let him still be Javy.

Why would you think they would do that?

Because somebody wrote an article about the Cubs doing that. But then Sahadev responded thusly:
