Jesus, Soler.

I don't know how he can suck most of the time but then put together stretches like the playoffs last year where he looks amazing

I wish it had actually been stretches, plural.

It's often what the development of a really talented player looks like when he's not named Kris Bryant.

Soler still should get the majority of the LF starts over the next month or so regardless of how he looks tonight vs a top 5 pitcher in the league. He's the highest upside play with Schwarber out. Approach implimenting the pseudo La Stella/Baez 3B/2B/LF platoon in a couple weeks if Soler is failing miserably

Eh. He was REALLY bad last year. I'd say Addison is more what you'd expect/hope to see from a developing talented player.

The frustrating part of Soler is that his patience fluctuates more than his inability to hit to the opposite field and stay back on the offshore on the outside 3rd.

Also frustrating as mentioned in the broadcast, he has very little loft in his swing. He generates high bat speed but it's not the arc you want with that much power potential.

In my mind, the frustrating thing with Soler was that plate discipline was one possibly one of his strengths in his limited time in the minor leagues. With his inability to hit major league offspeed pitches, it seems he might have been getting by due to minor leaguers not being able to locate breaking balls. He'll definitely need adjustments to his game, so this season will indeed be telling.

I could totally see Hendricks as the pitcher out of nowhere that wins 20+ games this year with this offense and getting lucky. Not that wins mean anything but ESPN would mention him more.

What's the story with Zobrist? The guy wasn't ever ranked as a minor league player, and didn't break out until age 28. I just figured he had been a highly touted prospect given how successful he's been, but I didn't realize his major league time has been relatively so short.

5th year college senior, senior sign, never projected to have power or a home defensively. Hardest worker in Rays system for years.

Cool. He's like a WSR fantasy come to life.
