650 PA * 3 = 1950

+ 50 PA dh'ing

+ 100 ph PA during year

+ 100 catching PA

= 2200 AB / 4 players = 550 AB per guy

Yeah, that'll work

So does this mean Schwarber catching a lot more or does it mean Soler is getting traded?

I'm hoping this shifts Heyward back to RF with a LF platoon of Schwarber/Soler.

So opening day lineup....

Fowler LF

Heyward CF

Rizzo 1B

Bryant 3B

Schwarber DH

Soler RF

Montero C

Arrieta P

Russell SS

SPORTS BONER ALERT

Yeah, he screwed up. It's actually better.

No Arrieta because of the DH. Zobrist will be in there at 2B.

I was worried about this season being as fun to follow day to day as last year just because of all the crazy stuff and major league debuts, but we are off to a good start

Looks like the $9M option for next year is a mutual option. So unless Fowler really loves being a Cub, he's likely to turn that down.

So in all likelihood this is a 1 year, $13M deal after you factor in the buyout -- unless of course the buyout is less than $5M if Fowler is the one to decline.

Pretty awesome all the same though.

This is a pretty horsefeathering spectacular thing to see when coming back from lunch. I finally broke down to watch that dumb postseason highlight video, and my biggest takeaway was how much I'm going to miss seeing Starlin and Dex. I even thought how crazy it would be to leave the '15 team when '16 looks to be so much more promising.

Not that I really care, but not sure how this works. If Dexter is the one that opts out, does he still get the buy-out money?

It's probably pretty pointless to try to name a player as a starter at an OF position at this point.

Maddon has a ton of options and will mix and match as he loves to do.

Edited, forgot Zobrist in my excitement. LOL

That lineup is absolutely stupid.

We will have to see how the contract is structured. There have definitely been cases where players got buyouts when not exercising their portion of a mutual option. But it's usually a smaller figure.
