Valdez is a DP. He's a bad DP. He's a try-hard guy. You can't waste a DP slot on a try-hard guy. Why they signed him when they had Clint, Oba, Marshall and Neagle is a mystery to me. Obviously those guys are all gone except Clint, but they were there at the time. They let Pappa, their one-man plan B, go without finding a replacement too.

I'm very unimpressed with the Garth Lagerway era so far.

They need Torres to come back 100% rust-free which is unlikely. So basically they need a stud CB and a stud, play-making central midfielder. They could also use a better keeper.

Letting Neagle, Martins, Barrett and Pappa go and replacing them with (essentially) Morris and a bunch of homegrowns is not a recipe for success. Ivanschitz is the business, but Friberg and Valdez are just mehhhhhh. They have been bringing Aaron Kovar and the guy from St. Vincent off the bench as their game-changing subs. That's bad.

Martins getting that Chinese offer and getting it in February really, really hurt. Until then they had 4 forwards to rotate through the ups and downs of age(Dempsey/Valdez) and inexperience(Morris), and now the only speed is wasted with Morris trying to learn to play RW and the depth is not good enough(though in time it could be).

They're supposed to be adding a DP and another signing of significance, which combined with Torres's return which should make them a lot more dangerous by summer, but that still might not be enough if they keep bleeding points and if Dempsey/Valdez/Morris can't be more dangerous in the attacking third.

The annual MLS players survey, aka, the annual American soccer players are extremely salty about the national team, not being good enough for Europe and other people's money survey.

$20 says the player who said an MLS team would get relegated was Gerrard.

I have to say, I agree with Mix being overrated.

I think everyone has been on that one for a while.

This is the year Mix achieves so overrated he's underrated status. Because he's entering his prime, because second year in MLS is always better, etc. He' s still miscast on that team.

That sucks. Got me wondering where Barca would be today without Cruyff.

To quote Pep: "Cruyff built the cathedral, our job is to maintain and renovate it"

Is it bad to complain about a 1-1 result in Columbia when you have roughly 25% of the possession?

It's a decent result, better than expected, though it was disappointing to see the US go full bunker-mode after that opening goal.

Starting Edgar Castillo in a road qualifier. Great decision jackass

Was my thought before the game. Didn't think it would be this bad this early.

seriously, this team is fun bad and that's inexcusable. It's the US in CONCACAF. There's no reason to ever plumb these depths regardless of a temporary talent dip between generations.

Such a joke of a coach.
