Not one team won all 3 games in the group phase. Five teams advanced without a loss: Netherlands, Morocco, Croatia, England, and the US.

Brazil was one more Swiss goal away from blowing the group.

It's amazing how close the US came to having none of England/France/Argentina/Spain/Belgium/Germany/Brazil/Portugal/Mexico/Denmark/Uruguay (the teams ranked ahead of the US at the time of the WC draw) on their half of the bracket.

Zimmerman and Ferreira in the starting 9 but no Gio.

 

Why can't we have good things?

 

Honestly, since Gregg isn't going to play anyone up top that isn't a "Striker" on the official roster, there's nowhere to put him. The 11 is built around MMA, you're not going to take off Pulisic, and Weah has been really dangerous over and over. Now, when we see our midfield and/or Weah get tired, we should see subs earlier, and they should be Reyna and Aaronson - Aaronson first if we have a lead, Reyna if we are tied or behind.

Jedi if you are sprinting into the box with the ball and defenders are running out of your way to track runners maybe consider kicking the bejeezus out of the ball at the goal
