I kind of hope Tunisia gets a goal, because that would make the Denmark-Australia game fascinating, both knowing that a draw would eliminate both of them.

There you go.

Almost immediately a switch was flipped in Australia-Denmark, and now Australia got a goal in the 60th. Should be a fun last 30 (or 40) minutes.

Could really use a Denmark goal here so both have to go for it again.

It'd be wild if Denmark ended up getting one and Tunisia went through.

Australia through in 2nd place, will play Group C winner in the round of 16, then that winner would play the Netherlands-US winner.

France equalizes in the 99th minute just because. Had Australia-Denmark finished in a draw it would have been devastating for Tunisia, but I imagine they already know by then it was over.

Nope, called back on VAR. Game still going after 10 minutes of added time.

My favorite part of having a good team is reading a ton about them during a fun run. What's everyone reading?

TT’s recs are good. Grant Wahl has also been doing great stuff on his substack.

I really enjoy In Soccer We Trust with Jimmy Conrad, Heath Pearce and Charlie Davies. They get some real good guests, aren't afraid to criticize when necessary, and obviously have the perspective of guys who have been there and done that

Not sure how people feel about Men In Blazers, but they've been doing a 6 part series with the actor who plays Coach Beard in Ted Lasso covering the history of the USMNT which I enjoyed. Brought back memories and reminded me of things I forgot or didn't know about at the time. The sub-series is called Go! Go! USA, but its part of the main Men In Blazers podcast.

If nobody scores any goals this afternoon, Poland wins the group, Argentina finishes second, and we get to witness a France-Argentina round of 16 game.

It’s an interesting dynamic for Argentina. They’re moving on with a pair of ties. They’d obviously love to win to avoid France but if they lose today they’re out.

And in the other game, Mexico has dominated against Saudi Arabia, but needs 4 goals to advance, so if Mexico gets a goal, there's even less incentive for either Poland or Argentina to rock the boat.

And now Mexico scores (finally). Poland still up +2 on GD

If Mexico and Argentina both get another goal and win 2-0, Poland/Mexico tiebreakers will come down to fair play. Mexico has 7 yellows vs. 4 for Poland (no reds)
