Shoutout to CCV, who was huge this game (literally, he was like twice the size of any Iranian player, anyone that went against him just bumped off).

My guy earned his stripes today. No longer a fringe player.

Netherlands is no slouch, but they're about the 10th best European team in the field, so there aren't many more desirable options coming into the knockout round (unless Argentina somehow blows it).

Geez...and I thought the UM/OSU game did a number on my heart. Nothing compared to this.

This would be like if UM/OSU was the national championship game for you, with Michigan trying to hold a 4 point lead with 5 minutes left and OSU just keeps getting first downs.

Well said....hope you aren't predicting the future here :)

Standouts today were CCV, Adams, Pulisic and Dest.

Weah missing that final touch.

Jedi had a bit of a heavy first touch, got into a lot of space.

Musah a bit too much dribbling again, had a few through balls available and was just late on them.

Sargent was better this game, rough injury there at the end, couldn't get a finish.

McKennie seemed tired today.

Ream was solid again, Turner was fine.

Subs were...a step down in each sense aside from Zimmerman helping to park the bus. Aaronson was kind of on an island the last 30 minutes so hard to blame him too much. Acosta didn't provide a lot aside from a set of fresh legs, Wright generated nothing, Moore kept giving the ball away, preventing the US from really having any kind of possession after Dest subbed out.

Rooting interests for tomorrow, the potential quarterfinal opponent would be between the winner of Group C and the runner up in Group D.

That means we really want Poland to get a result against Argentina to keep Argentina out of the top spot. Less likely and more fun would be Saudi Arabia blowing out Mexico to catch Argentina's GD, but they'd have to win by at least 3 to overcome a 1 goal Argentina win.

In Group D it would take a miracle for France to not win the group, which is good. The rooting interest would be Australia getting a result over Denmark to take the 2nd spot.

If both of those broke the US's way, neither of which seem beyond the pale given performances thus far, their (again, potential) quarterfinal opponent could be the winner of Poland/Australia.

Translated: The video received by Iran International shows that the citizens of Marivan shouted for joy after the victory of the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran football team in the Qatar World Cup.

Edit: not sure why its not embedding

Poland draw/Saudi win, Saudi-Australia knockout.
