Please let Venezuela win.

I mean, that's a FAR better option to advance, but honest I'd rather see the US play Argentina because Argentina has been undoubtedly the best team in the tournament.

 

Id rather face Mexico in the final than Argentina in the semis but I understand your sentiment.

Another thing to keep in mind is that due to the weird scheduling, the US will have two days of extra rest before the next game.

Also props to Landon for calling out the Ecuador coach on his words that got his sent off. Should get some serious fines if the association is serious about cutting down on the offensive and derogatory speech.

Jurgen's biggest mistake this game was making each sub about 5 minutes later than he needed to. First one should have been for Bedoya just after the second goal, second should have been about the 75th minute, and Birnbaum should have been just going into stoppage.

Honestly they could go with Beckerman, Nagbe, Pulisic and it wouldn't be bad.

I know someone else mentioned this a one or two ago (maybe you) but Landon has been great on the broadcasts. Hope he sticks around and does this full time

Yeah, that was terrible. Loved how Landon said the Ecuador dude was lucky not to get a yellow also. I know he's not going to call out his former teammate but what he said was a bit ridiculous.

I'm honestly not sure he ever made contact with the guy's face.

 

I thought he caught him, but it was very light. Still it was stupid to even do that, just don't put yourself in that position especially when you know your opponent is going down to 10 men.

It wasn't much but he definitely caught him. If the ref sees you swing your hand at a guy and thinks you just smacked him in the face, you're going to get sent off.

I think he'll play against T&T in the qualifier in September if a result is still needed at that point and probably some of the early hex games.

No, Messi will be playing.

 

 

Argentina has to play with only two days rest - very unfair scheduling. Also, they have several players on yellows also. Kind of disliking that rule as the semis should feature teams at full strength.

 

As far as Jones goes, just a really stupid move on his part. Can't blame the ref for his lack of composure.
