Finally watching last week's review show and boy there were some dumb red cards last weekend. I knew Coquelin's second yellow was stupid but that was nothing. Mirallas appeared to be unlucky on the first yellow but on the second one, he had no business sliding in the way he did particularly in their attacking third. Both of Mata's were stupid also. It's virtually never a good idea to jump in front of the other team trying to take a quick free kick from just outside their own penalty area. And then he's on a yellow and is unnecessarily aggressive, again in ManU's attacking third.

I particularly enjoyed van Gaal saying after the game that Mata shouldn't have been red carded because he's a good dude who had never gotten a red card before. Sorry Louis, that's not how things work.

That sequence at the end of the Arsenal-Watford game was bonkers.

Also, Harry Kane looks like Neville Longbottom.

Yep that's it, wondering why he bugged me.

FIFA has acknowledged for the first time that votes were bought in past World Cup hosting contests as it said it is seeking to claim "tens of millions of dollars" in bribe money seized by U.S. federal prosecutors.

FIFA submitted a 22-page claim to the U.S. Attorney's Office in New York on Tuesday that seeks a big share in restitution from more than $190 million already forfeited by soccer and marketing officials who pleaded guilty in the sprawling corruption case.

Good god please let Arsenal luck into a 3-0 win or a 2-0 and shootout win. I'm so sick to death of Barcelona.

Just for curiosity's sake, I looked up some various lines on Bovada.

Arsenal is

+1000 to win the game

+4000 to win by exactly 2 goals

+8000 to win by exactly 3 goals

+1400 to keep a clean sheet

I was following the MBM on the Guardian for the other game, saw the headling and misread "Suarez" as "Sanchez" and got momentarily excited.

It's amazing how Leicester transformed from a team that outscored teams to a good defensive team midseason.

First 17 games: 37 GF, 24 GA

Last 14 games: 17 GF, 7 GA

Was really hoping Palace could get at least a draw today but it was the same story as the Newcastle game. Leicester didn't deserve to win and yet they pulled it out again.

I think they were good value for that 1-0; Oshazaki should have had at least 1 more at the start of the second half, and for all Palace's pressure in the final 15 their best chance fell to a central defender.

Alan Pardew is not a good coach. He did this same "start strong and then lose a thousand straight games" at Newcastle.

Yeah, they weren't bad by any means, but they probably should have only taken 4 points from the two games. Newcastle showed better than Palace, I thought.

Newcastle were unlucky; 3 training sessions with Benitez had them looking night and day better.

Man City continue to be unable to beat good teams anywhere in the league this year. 0 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses against the top-6 this year and they're 2W, 3D, 9L against the top-10.

Pretty happy with Spurs today. Two goals in the first 15 minutes put them well on their way and a third early in the second half killed the game off.

Seattle is 0-3 after Mark Geiger gifted Vancouver one PK and called another. And Clint missed a complete sitter.

It's almost as if their entire attack was to let Clint and Oba combine and improvise and then they sold half of that equation a week before the season.

Not just that, but refusing to just replace Oba with Morris and instead trying to shoehorn an ill fitting 4-3-3 with a guy like Valdez who just does not fit with that team. Great hold up play, but no pace and no ability to combine in tight spaces. They're losing the midfield battle and neutering their attack all at once.

Sit Valdez, play another midfielder (maybe play Evans in his natural spot instead of shoehorning him around the backline when he's healthy) and just let Clint and Morris combine. Use Valdez as cover for international breaks and for an extra attacker against a packed in defense.

Valdez is a DP. He's a bad DP. He's a try-hard guy. You can't waste a DP slot on a try-hard guy. Why they signed him when they had Clint, Oba, Marshall and Neagle is a mystery to me. Obviously those guys are all gone except Clint, but they were there at the time. They let Pappa, their one-man plan B, go without finding a replacement too.

I'm very unimpressed with the Garth Lagerway era so far.

They need Torres to come back 100% rust-free which is unlikely. So basically they need a stud CB and a stud, play-making central midfielder. They could also use a better keeper.
