I'm declaring this series over. Cleveland might win both at home but there is no way they are going 4-1 against team that is 87-14 so far this year. LeBron will be 2-5 in Finals and only a miracle 3 from Ray Allen is keeping him from 1-6.

Maybe it's not fair to judge ones legacy on how many titles they won or what your record is in NBA Finals series is because obviously the team around you matters, and making 6 straight finals with 2 teams is pretty impressive. But fair or not, he will be historically judged on his finals record. Even today Wilt is typically pushed down a spot or two in the all time rankings for many people and the first reason they mention is that, compared to his contemporary Bill Russell, he did not win as often. Although MJ and LeBron's careers did not intersect, the latter started immediately after the former retired and I believe they will be compared historically and LeBron's comparison will not ultimately be favorable

I'm ready to eat crow on this

Cleveland can thank me for this reverse jinx. (Yes that's it. It's not that I'm a moron) I still don't really like LeBron but whatever very happy for Cleveland. They did it in the most epic way possible (non Red Sox division)

Can't believe the team with the highest single season winning percentage in every sport has failed to win a title in that season.

I wanted Golden State to win when the series started but eh, good for Cleveland and LBJ. That was an epic Game 7 after so many lopsided games.

The Draymond suspension really changed the series. Obviously Cleveland could have won Game 5 anyway but it would have been much less likely.

Curry was terrible in that game, and the last couple threes he forced up when he didn't need to. The one when they were down 3 with just under a minute left was particularly bad. Love was guarding him and the entire time he kept trying to get a look and finally just threw up some off balance shot. That type of possession was the exact opposite of what the Warriors do on offense.

So 96 Bulls best team ever still?

So 96 Bulls best team ever still?

I can't answer that because I'm biased but I imagine it will go back to arguing between the 96 Bulls, 86 Celtics and this Warriors team. The Warriors excuse is that their MVP was never the same after being hurt but I think this team just didn't look the same as the playoffs went on. As a Bulls fan I will say something like 'yeah the Bulls only won 72, but they then breezed to the title, going 15-3. The Warriors won 73 but it took so much out of them they struggled through the playoffs and eventually fell one game short.'

Curry's knee, Green's suspension and no Bogut.

The Warriors don't have to deal with any one of those issues and they almost certainly win this. Awesomely crazy series.

If the league continues its "small ball/threes or bust/less contact" trend, how long will it be until comparing the great teams of this era to eras past becomes a futile endeavor simply owing to the fact that the game is so much different?

Are we near that threshold already?

I'm really enjoying the "I know you guys are going to read into every damn thing I do/say/wear anyway, so I'm going to make it fun" version of LeBron.

How much of an argument does the 2000 Lakers have. 56-26 regular season, but 15-1 in playoffs with 9 double digit wins.

dammit I had $60 on Golden State

Reminds me of Bad Lieutenant

Its similar because I had $30 on game 6 and we did double or nothing on 7.

We can also say that if Kylie and Love played in the finals last year, we could be talking about LeBron winning his 4th title right now. Agree that the series was amazing.

Bulls had as many double digit wins in the playoffs in 96. 2000 Lakers reminds me of 91 Bulls. They were pretty good in regular season, but they dominated when it came to the playoffs (Bulls had 10 double digit wins and both losses were by 2 pts each).
